A multiday outing to the Texas coast is planned for mid-July. Club member Brandon Rabke will be the trip host.

Here’s the current itinerary:
July 15, Wednesday – Arrive Corpus Christi/Padre Island National Seashore (PINS). There are camping options within PINS as well as Airbnb rentals on North Padre.

July 16 & 17, Thursday-Friday – Use kayaks to access flats of the Laguna Madre. We will use kayak launch sites at Yarborough Pass and Bird Island Basin. We will be wading and fly fishing sandy, shallow flats while sight-casting to redfish, black drum, and other species in knee-deep water. Note, 4WD is necessary to reach Yarborough Pass.

July 18, Saturday – Fish Lighthouse Lakes near Aransas Pass.

July 19 & 20, Sunday-Monday – Return to Lighthouse Lakes or fish Port Bay, again using kayaks. The club will probably rent a house in the Aransas Pass/Rockport area that can accommodate 7 or 8 people.

Members are welcome to join the group for just a single day or for the entire five-day excursion.
